Four ID employees passed the forklift test

Unloading purchased and manufactured parts and loading them for customer transport are part of an ID forklift driver’s daily routine. It is therefore helpful to have additional colleagues available, beyond the primary driver, when schedules are tight or workloads are high. For this reason, ID management welcomes employees from other departments who voluntarily sign up for forklift training.

In April, ID employees Christiane Pförtner, Andreas Eitle, Pascal Wagner, and apprentice John Weigandt completed an in-house forklift driving course led by instructor Pascal Kautz from Kareitec GmbH. In addition to a theoretical examination, the program included driving and operating an electric forklift on a specially designed course set up on the ID company premises for the test. Furthermore, under the guidance of long-time ID forklift driver Jochen Bertram, the trainees practiced various driving and loading maneuvers in confined spaces with a larger gas-powered forklift in the assembly hall.

All participants of the basic course passed the examination and received their official operating certificate at the end of April. In the interim, they were already permitted to drive on the company premises.

The benefits are clear

For full-time forklift driver Bertram, this represents a significant reduction in workload, ensuring he is not constantly interrupted. Furthermore, with the introduction of home office days, the task of loading and transporting machine components by forklift is now distributed among more individuals. This provides greater flexibility in the receipt and onward transport of delivered goods, benefiting subsequent workflows.
