ID among the top 5 in “Social Entrepreneurship” in the Euskirchen district
District Administrator Markus Ramers announced the “Social Entrepreneur Kreis Euskirchen” competition for the first time. Out of a total of 15 companies that had applied, an independent jury nominated the top 5, including ID, represented by Lea Gottschalk and Jens Janke. All five companies presented their measures on January 30 at a final pitch in the Ideenfabrik Euskirchen. The winners were then chosen.
Five nominees in the final pitch
In short 3-minute pitches, the five candidates ID Engineering, Marienborn gGmbH (Zülpich), Marien-Hospital Euskirchen (Euskirchen), Papstar GmbH (Kall) and Pfeifer & Langen GmbH & Co. KG (Euskirchen) presented their strategies and measures for socially sustainable management in their companies. The audience finally voted Pfeifer & Langen GmbH & Co. KG into first place, while PAPSTAR GmbH and MARIENBORN gGmbH came in second and third. In addition to a certificate, the winners each received a voucher that can be used for the filming of an advertising film, professional health coaching and a team-building event.
The jury praised the winner Pfeifer & Langen in particular for the aspects: fair working conditions, inclusion, long-term employee support and sustainable, ethically sound supply chains.
ID in the Euskirchen district far ahead with social sustainability
There was no sign of disappointment among the SDG-Scouts® – business, Lea Gottschalk and Jens Janke. They were happy for the winners and that they themselves had come so far with their application.
Their pitch was carefully prepared and underpinned with strong images. They presented the social aspects of ID: family-friendly employer, NRW talents, SDG scouts, Jobrad and the cooperation with the Ideenfabrik. Finally, they presented the new ID logo with the slogan “Vision to Value”. It is intended to underline ID’s commitment to a social and sustainable future.
Background to the Social Entrepreneur Award
With the “Social Entrepreneur Award”, the Euskirchen district recognizes both young and established companies that have made it their mission to act in a socially exemplary manner. This can be done through exceptional family friendliness, forward-looking company health management, innovative working time models, diversity in the workforce, social and societal commitment or a consistent commitment to human rights.
All companies that took part in the competition were presented at the award ceremony and received a gift of recognition. Many of them presented themselves at the event with small presentation stands and invited the audience to exchange ideas.
