ID Engineering is now a cooperation partner of the Ideenfabrik Sustainable Economy

When it comes to advancing sustainability activities in the region, ID makes an important contribution as an innovative company for special machine construction. Since April, ID has also been an official cooperation partner of the “Ideenfabrik Nachhaltige Wirtschaft” (Sustainable Economy Ideas Factory), which opened in November 2023 with premises in the venerable cloth factory just outside Euskirchen. The location is considered a new hub when it comes to the major issues of our time.

Consulting for company founders, support for greater sustainability, increasing innovation, further education and qualification offers, such as currently for SDG-Scouts® Business – the Ideenfabrik is a central marketplace for start-ups and companies looking for an exchange and network platform and want to develop new ideas.

A co-working space, meeting and event rooms, consulting and knowledge factory: all this is combined in the 630 square meter innovation and start-up center. Under the umbrella of the Ideenfabrik, regional companies are enabled to undergo sustainable transformation and innovative capacity and attractiveness as an employer are promoted. By 2026 – according to the declared goal of those responsible for the project – around 100 sustainable companies in the Euskirchen district are to achieve a nationwide role model function.

A highlight of the Ideenfabrik is the modern co-working space. Here you will find workplaces for every need, right through to a workshop with 3D printer, 3D scanner and VR technology. The digital workshop offers, for example, the opportunity to work on a product idea or design a prototype. Agile, flexible workplaces in a modern ambience are also available. There are two “phone boxes” for private and undisturbed telephone calls, and a technically fully equipped room for around 20 people can be used for seminars.

Start-ups receive support from partner companies. ID provides, for example, assistance with manufacturing drawings, electrics or robotics. Interested newcomers can also view projects from special machine construction, robotics and image processing directly in ID’s own assembly hall in order to gain inspiration for their own ideas.

The Ideenfabrik (total costs approx. 1.9 million euros) has been funded to 70 percent by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMUV). The hope is great that this project will prove to be exemplary and thus become a model for other regions in Germany. The BMUV delegate from Berlin said at the opening: “You can be sure: the eyes from Berlin will now be directed to the Euskirchen district.”
