Around 150 interested visitors came to Euskirchen for ID Engineering’s TechDay on May 19. In the assembly hall, which had been converted into a modern trade fair setting, ID presented its complete service and product portfolio in special-purpose machinery manufacturing together with partner companies, including live demos.
Markets are changing – collaboration offers a competitive advantage
In the well-filled assembly hall, ID Managing Directors Tobias Butscheid and Michael Mießen explained that “TechDay” is intended to show why networking is a strategic success factor and how collaboration with partners can become a competitive advantage. In times when the market is changing significantly, great solutions are created exactly where people work together. That is why the future belongs to the strongest networks in the industry. “TechDay” picked up on precisely this impulse and provided the necessary framework. The response from visitors was accordingly positive.
TechDay showcases solutions in special-purpose machinery manufacturing
Following an introductory presentation on the “Future of Industry in Europe” by Alexander Mertens, Executive Board Member of Schoeller Werk GmbH & Co. KG, guests flocked curiously to the various stations in the hall. There, ID demonstrated the complete range of its solutions in special-purpose machinery manufacturing together with its partners, including Optonic, bellanet, and Siemens. Live demos on the use of AI-supported camera systems in industrial image processing, the VQC 12/20 2D vision system for optical quality inspection in daily production, automated quality inspection for battery cells, as well as cleaning and bonding technologies for special requirements, attracted great attention from the participants.
Future trends – exciting specialist presentations
In addition, a well-balanced program of presentations repeatedly drew the guests’ attention back to the stage in the assembly hall.
In his introduction, Tobias Butscheid presented the automation trends of the future:
- Trend 1: Software-defined automation, as flexibility becomes more important than maximum utilization for future systems.
- Trend 2: Robotics is evolving from rigidly programmed movements to flexible digital workforces.
ID image processing specialist Michael Sartor clearly illustrated in his technical presentation that machine vision is an integral part of modern mechanical engineering today. Further exciting specialist presentations were given by ID partners Artificial Pixels, the RWTH Aachen Tool Laboratory, and Kuka.
Between the live demos and presentations, there was plenty of room for networking and professional exchange at the catering stand or the coffee bar.
By the end of the day, it was clear that the idea behind “TechDay” had worked and was well received by all visitors. ID Engineering demonstrated its standing as the first point of contact for specialized solutions in modern special-purpose machinery manufacturing. Reason enough for a repeat of “TechDay” in Euskirchen soon.
