WIR! Alliance supports structural change in the region
LASER.region.AACHEN consolidates expertise in laser manufacturing in the Aachen region, with a focus on intensive exchange of experience and knowledge at both the industrial and social levels. This collaboration gives rise to new combined processes, innovative products, and a shared technology platform.
The objective of the “WIR! Alliance”, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research with a maximum of 15 million Euros, is to drive structural change in Europe’s largest lignite mining region and strengthen the Aachen Laser Region for the future. Innovative laser-based solutions are intended to create new jobs, open up economic prospects, and establish laser technology as a key technology.
