Car Seat Inspection with Synthetic Image Data from the First Component
For an automotive supplier, we used synthetic, sensor-realistic image data that enables AI-supported seat inspection from the very first component — quickly, precisely, and without manual training phases.
Quality inspection in car seat production is complex: Diverse materials, changing seat models, and short product cycles complicate the use of classic deep learning models, which typically with error data “fed” are, to prevent them in the future.

In these cases, we deploy synthetic, sensorealistic image data . For this purpose we generate withUsing diffusion models we generate additional training images from existing seat data, which are precisely tailored to the extrinsic and intrinsic parameters of the cameras used. This allows for realistic simulation of variant diversity and material combinations. Already from the first real seat is created a validated Anomaly–Detection-Model as well as a classifier ready – without waiting time, without manual rework.
Structured-light 3D sensors are used for precise geometry acquisition, as well as 2D GigE Vision cameras for optical inspection. The combination of 2D and 3D data enables comprehensive quality inspection. The result: significantly reduced training times, lower manual effort, and accelerated integration of new seat models into the production process.
