New addition to ID: Mechanical Engineering Technician joined in February
42-year-old Andreas Heinrichs joined the ID team a few days ago. He seized the opportunity when ID management offered him a position as a Technical Designer at the beginning of the year. He had already experienced the positive working environment last year.
Last summer, Andreas Heinrichs from Euskirchen already spent eight weeks at ID Engineering during an internship. He completed internships at a total of four companies as part of a vocational rehabilitation program to gain a comprehensive overview. One of these, ID Engineering, left a positive impression on him and the management. This would prove beneficial to him a few months later.
Before his health-related career reorientation, the trained mechanical technician specializing in manufacturing mechanics worked for almost 21 years as a lathe and milling machine operator at Hecker & Krosch in Zülpich. A chronic respiratory illness prevented him from continuing this profession.
First retraining, then a new job
The retraining opened up entirely new opportunities for the father of three, along with an offer of permanent employment with flexible working hours at ID. This allows him to continue his part-time advanced training to become a state-certified Mechanical Engineering Technician at Thomas-Eßer-Berufskolleg Euskirchen until its completion in June. Starting in autumn, he also plans to pursue further education part-time to become a Technical Business Administrator. Such interest and commitment are highly valued at ID.
