Flower Power – ID’s First Sustainability Project Finalized

What began in summer as a collaborative project by ID employees was already completed in October with a large-scale planting initiative. ID’s first sustainability project is now temporarily entering its winter dormancy. However, all participants are already looking forward to the first warming rays of sunshine next spring.

In retrospect, things progressed quite rapidly. In April, Lea Gottschalk and Jens Janke successfully completed their training as “SDG-Scouts® – business – Employees for Sustainability in Companies” at Ideenfabrik Euskirchen, having already developed project ideas for ID during the course. Between April and June, these concepts were elaborated and discussed with the management.

Nature-Oriented Employee Lounge

Project Implementation: “Nature-Oriented Company Premises”

The first project was initiated and completed between June and October. Following the planning specifications of the SDG-Scouts® – business, a nature-oriented employee lounge was established in August on the company premises in the Euskirchen industrial area “Am Silberberg”.

Planting Initiative Concludes First SDG Project – Continues in 2025

In October, the project was finalized with a planting campaign. The selection of more than 100 plants* was based on the principle of sustainability. Additionally, the participants planted numerous flower bulbs.

ID employees are already eagerly anticipating next spring, when everything sprouts and blooms, and the employee lounge becomes a meeting point during lunch breaks or after work. In the meantime, SDG-Scout Lea Gottschalk is focusing on her Master’s degree in Sustainability Management and Leadership and, together with Jens Janke, is preparing for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
