Where can you find a cross-section of the entire industrial world in one place, from big players to hidden champions? At the world’s largest technology trade fair, which attracts well over 100,000 visitors every year: the Hannover Messe. Last week, 3,000 exhibitors presented their latest innovations at the Hannover exhibition grounds. And this year, ID Engineering was also involved as an exhibitor. At the Zebra Technologies stand, ID was able to showcase its expertise in the field of machine vision.
Despite a weakening economy and pressure from China, German industry used the Hannover Messe to redefine its future. At the center of the industrial future are artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and energy infrastructure—key technologies for industrial transformation. Highlights included AI-supported production systems and assistants capable of automating processes and predicting failures, as well as humanoid robots that already master complex movement sequences and can be used in production and service in the future.
Machine Vision at the Heart of ID and Zebra
At the Zebra Technologies stand, the US provider of devices and software for data capture and processing, barcode scanners, and RFID readers, together with ID, demonstrated the diverse components for using modern camera technology in industry. As an integrator, ID uses Zebra’s Aurora Vision software for quality assurance in production facilities.
Center Stage with Specialist Presentations and Networking
An absolute crowd-puller at the Hannover Messe was the Center Stage, which has established itself as a central platform for knowledge transfer, discussion, and inspiration. The Zebra Technologies board gave a presentation on the topic: “Why specific AI models, deep learning & sensor technology are setting new standards.”
Hannover Messe for a Broad Audience
While ID usually meets very specific partners, customers, and interested visitors at trade fairs such as the “Battery Show” or “Paint Expo,” the Hannover Messe is more of an “all-encompassing technology showcase,” summarizes ID CEO Tobias Butscheid. “We are pleased that through our partnership with Zebra Technologies, we had the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in digital image processing to a broad international audience at the Hannover Messe.”
The next edition will take place from April 5 to 8, 2027, at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds.
