Adhesive tapes are a powerful alternative to classic joining methods, especially when weight, flexibility, and process reliability play a central role, as is the case, for example, in modern vehicle construction.

Industrial adhesive applications are used for seals, sound insulation, or protective functions. Automated solutions, for example, using foam and profile tapes or attaching insulating foils, must reliably meet requirements such as temperature resistance, moisture protection, or acoustic properties. ID has not only adopted the technology from business partner Vulkan Technic but has also brought in the necessary personnel expertise for it.

Andreas Thiex has been responsible for the development and sales of adhesive technology in automation since June. He has already presented the application possibilities in personal discussions at the Battery Show 2026 and, of course, informed all existing ID customers as well as relevant industrial adhesive tape manufacturers such as Lohmann, 3M, and Tesa about the new ID offering.

Projects are already being processed, and concrete tests are being conducted in the company’s own assembly hall using sample materials. Interested parties come from all over Germany and Europe. Automotive suppliers from Spain and France are involved, as is a household appliance component supplier from Slovakia, who is requesting specific adhesive processes for refrigerators.

By the way: Not every application requires a fully automatic solution. For small quantities or different variants, a semi-automatic implementation is an economically sensible alternative. ID specialists first examine all of this to then offer tailor-made proposals for individual solutions.
